The 2026 Circassian (Adyghe) Cheese Festival has been canceled due to the need to ensure the safety of participants. The Government of the Republic of Adygea announced the organizing committee's decision.
"The organizing committee has decided not to hold the Adyghe Cheese Festival in 2026. This decision is due to the current situation and the need to ensure the safety of participants, guests, and everyone involved in preparing the event," the republican government said in a statement.
However, the project remains active: work continues on the creation of the Deguakskaya Polyana ethnopark, which will eventually become a new permanent venue for the festival. This will create a modern space for the preservation and promotion of Adyghe culture, traditions, and culinary heritage, and will also elevate the festival to a whole new level.
The organizing committee also recognized the contributions of everyone who supported and participated in the festival over the years.
In 2025, the festival attracted approximately 70,000 people over two days, a record-breaking number. The project has become one of the republic's key events, playing a significant role in developing tourism, promoting national culture, and promoting the republic's gastronomic brand.
