Circassian wrestler Marat Kamparov won a gold medal in Budapest

 


The 4th United World Wrestling (UWW) ranking tournament concluded in the Hungarian capital.

Circassian wrestler Marat Kamparov from the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (the eastern part of the Circassian homeland) won a gold medal in the heavyweight (130 kg) Greco-Roman wrestling at the tournament in Budapest. He competed in five matches, and the judges ruled him the superior of his opponents in all of them.

These competitions are the key stage in the athletes' preparation for the upcoming World Youth (U24) and Adult Championships, according to the Ministry of Sport of Kabardino-Balkaria.
