Circassian wrestler Amir Sovmiz won bronze at the European U20 Greco-Roman Championships

Circassian athlete Amir Sovmiz from Adygea won bronze at the European U20 Greco-Roman Wrestling Championships. Murat Kumpil, the head of the Republic of Adygea, announced this on his social media accounts.

The competition took place in Skopje, North Macedonia. Amir competed as part of the Russian national team. He took third place in the 67-kilogram weight class.

"The achievements of athletes from Adygea have once again been enhanced by a prestigious award. This is the result of many years of training, dedication, and the professional work of our coaches. Amir Sovmiz demonstrated his best qualities and confirmed the important role our region plays in developing strong athletes," Murat Kumpil wrote.

Now Amir, along with another national team member, Ramazan Nehai, will travel to the World Junior Greco-Roman Wrestling Championships for U20s. The tournament will be held in Slovakia from August 17 to 23.
