Hematologist Zarina Leghuf, head of the hematology center at the Adygea Republican Clinical Oncology Dispensary named after M. Kh. Ashkhamaf, has won the "Best Doctor of the Year" competition. This was reported by the Sovetskaya Adygeya newspaper.
The hematologist received the award—the "Setenay Flower" statuette—from the head of Adygea at a gala event dedicated to Medical Worker's Day held at the Nalmes Concert Hall in the capital city Maykop. The "Setenay Flower" statuette symbolizes Circassian (Adyghe) traditional medicine. The award was created by jeweler and gunsmith Asya Eutykh. According to the competition's terms, this prize is a challenge prize and is awarded annually, along with the award, to the best doctor of the year in Adygea.
Following the final stage of the competition—the public vote—Zarina Leghuf garnered over 9,700 votes, earning her one additional point.
In addition, awards were presented to the competition's laureates. They were Elena Zagumennova, a pediatrician at the Maykop City Children's Polyclinic; Batyr Nagoy, head of the endoscopy department and endoscopist at the Adygea Republican Clinical Hospital; Natalya Nartova, a physician with the mobile ambulance team at the Adygea Republican Center for Emergency Medical Care and Disaster Medicine; and Murat Chermit, a traumatologist and orthopedist in the traumatology and orthopedics department at the K. M. Batman Adygea Interdistrict Hospital.
