A roundtable presentation "Adyghe Khabze: The Moral and Legal Code of the Adyghe" was held in Maykop, the capital of the Republic of Adygea, at the Tembot Kerashev Adyghe Republican Institute for Humanitarian Research (ARHI). The newspaper Sovetskaya Adygea reports.
The main topic of discussion was the book of the same name, published this year. The author and compiler is Adam Tleuzh, Doctor of Philosophy and Director of ARIHI.
The book "Adyghe Khabze: The Moral and Legal Code of the Adyghe" reflects the moral and aesthetic values inherent in traditional ethnic culture. This publication will immerse you in the world of the Circassians (Adyghe), explore their lives and customs, familiarize you with the specifics of various rituals, the cultural meaning of these phenomena, and their connection to the ethnic and religious context.
According to the author, the book's development took several years. It is based on numerous materials collected by hundreds of scholars and researchers on the traditions and customs of the people. He believes that the tenets of Adyghe Khabze, the core of Circassian (Adyghe) society, are somewhat eroded in modern times, and it is crucial to preserve them.
Representatives of government agencies and the republic's scientific community participated in the event.
At the roundtable, it was noted that the entire print run of 500 copies sold out immediately. According to Marziyat Bidanok, Deputy Director for Science at the Adyghe Republican Institute of Humanitarian Research named after Tembot Kerashev, the book is planned to be published in other languages in the future: Circassian (Adyghe), Arabic, English, and Turkish.
