The 56th International Ali Aliyev Memorial Freestyle Wrestling Tournament is drawing to a close in Dagestan - 17.05.2026. Top athletes from Russia, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Hungary, Turkey, Bahrain, and other countries gathered in Kaspiysk.
The first day of competition was marked by a sensational moment. In the 74 kg weight class, Olympic champion Zaurbek Sidakov (North Ossetia) and Circassian wrestler Inalbek Sheriev from Kabardino-Balkaria faced off in the semifinals. Sheriev won and advanced to the finals. Sidakov ultimately won bronze.
In the decisive bout, Sheriev faced Turkey's Muhammad-Bashir Khaniyev. The wrestler from Kabardino-Balkaria left him no chance, winning 10-0. The Ministry of Sports of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic reported this.
