Circassian athlete Asker Irigov, from the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (the eastern Circassian homeland), is a three-time world champion in powerlifting and a world record holder in the 110 kg weight class. His best result to date is 420 kg. He holds the title of Master of Sports of the Russian Federation.
