Athletes from Adygea won 8 medals at the Russian Youth Karate Championship

 


From April 1 to 7, 2026, the Russian All-Style Youth Karate Championship for athletes aged 14-20 was held in Oryol. Approximately 2,500 athletes representing 66 regions of the country participated.

Amid fierce competition, the Adygea team won two gold, four silver, and two bronze medals. This was reported by Sovetskaya Adygeya, citing the All-Style Karate Federation of the Republic of Adygea.

Adygea was represented at the competition by a 16-member team. Athletes competed in the "full contact with protective equipment" and "limited contact" disciplines.

In the "full contact with protective equipment" discipline, black belt Alikhan Pakov, coached by V.N. Vasilchenko, won gold in the 18-20 age category (up to 54 kg). In the same discipline, but in the 16-17 age category (up to 54 kg), gold was won by decorated athlete Dmitry Petrenko, coached by A.Yu. Tlyustangelov.

Silver medals in the 14-15 age category were won by three athletes: Astemir Pakov (coached by V.N. Vasilchenko) in the 72 kg weight category; Rashid Khunagov (coached by A.M. Pakov) in the 64 kg weight category; and Tamara Petrakovets (coached by O.V. Petrakovets), a black belt, also won silver in the 60 kg weight category.

In the 16-17 age category, Bogdan Pasternak (coach N.D. Poprugin) won silver in the 90 kg weight class. Rafik Oganyan also won bronze in the same category.

In the limited contact discipline, Alina Khoretleva (coach V.V. Leus) won bronze in the 16-17 age category in the 55 kg weight class. This athlete from the Takhtamukaysky district has been demonstrating consistently high results for many years.
