Adygea Wins 12 Medals at the Russian Weightlifting Youth Championship

 


The Russian Weightlifting Championship for boys and girls aged 13-15 and 13-17 was held in Kaspiysk. More than 450 athletes from 52 regions of the country participated in the competition.

The taem of the Republic of Adygea won 12 medals of various denominations.

In the 96 kg category (13-17), Askhad Tsey became a three-time winner, showing the best results in the snatch, clean and jerk, and the combined total.

In the 40 kg category for girls, Arina Bulbas won the clean and jerk and the combined total, and took second place in the snatch.

In the 13-17 age group for boys, Andrei Karmanov won bronze in the snatch.

In the 67 kg category for boys aged 13-15, Amir Lyamov won bronze in the snatch, silver in the clean and jerk, and bronze in the combined total. His fellow countryman, Aidamir Birzhev, in the same weight category for boys aged 13-17, won two bronze medals in the clean and jerk and combined total.

Following the competition, the Adygea team took third place in the overall team standings for boys aged 13-15.
