A weightlifter from Adygea wins silver at the European Weightlifting Championships

 


Yana Sotieva, an athlete from the Republic of Adygea, won a silver medal at the European Weightlifting Championships. Asker Savv, head of the Takhtamukay District, announced this on social media.

The weightlifter is a student of the Olympic Reserve Sports School No. 2 in the Takhtamukay District.

The competition is taking place in Batumi, Georgia. Yana competed in the 86 kg weight class and took second place with 247 kg in the snatch and clean and jerk.

"I congratulate Yana and her coach, Roman Kazakov, on this remarkable achievement! This is not just a medal, but the result of hard work, dedicated time, and self-confidence. I wish her continued success, new remarkable victories, and the conquest of the highest podiums," the head of the municipality wrote.
