Murat Khasanov, an 11-time world champion in the super heavyweight division (height 195 cm, weight 158 ​​kg) from the Republic of Adygea, has been appointed Vice President of the All-Russian Sambo Federation. This was announced following the organization's reporting and election conference in St. Petersburg, Russia.

During the event, the federation's performance through 2025 was summarized and the governing body for the upcoming four-year period was formed. Following a vote by conference delegates, Sergei Eliseev was re-elected as President of the All-Russian Sambo Federation, and Murat Khasanov was appointed to the Executive Committee.

Murat Khasanov was born on December 10, 1970, in the village of Yegerukhai, Adygea. In 1984, he began training in judo and sambo, and during his athletic career, he competed in numerous national and international competitions. In the super heavyweight sambo division (height 195 cm, weight 158 ​​kg), he won 19 Russian championships, 7 European championships, 11 world championships, and 8 World Cups. He is also a bronze medalist at the USSR championship and World Cup in judo, and champion of Russia in judo .

In 1992, he graduated from the Adygea State Pedagogical Institute with a degree in Physical Education. In 1994, he was awarded the title of "Master of Sports of International Class in Judo," and in 1995, the title of "Honored Master of Sports in Sambo."

From 2007 to 2016, Murat Khasanov served as Chairman of the Committee for Physical Culture and Sports of the Republic of Adygea. Since 2016, he has been a member of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.
