Over 200 applications from 11 countries have already been submitted to the 6th Golden Sausruko International Film Festival in the Republic of Adygea. The admissions campaign began on February 15,- Sovetskaya Adygea reports , citing the regional branch of the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation.
The number of applications was a record for the festival, which was previously held under the name "Adygea, I Love You!" Films from Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Spain, Italy, Singapore, Brazil, Iran, and Bolivia made it to the selection round.
This year, the film festival received international status and, as a result, acquired a new name—Golden Sausruko—symbolizing the connection with the cultural heritage of the Adyghe (Circassian) people. This is a new stage in the development of the project, which continues its mission to discover new names in the world of cinema and strengthen international cultural ties, noted the regional branch of the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation.
Applications for the film festival are accepted until August 15 at the following link: https://forms.yandex.ru/cloud/693c6ab695add5453bf59e3a, or by email at kinoadigeya@mail.ru. Works made no earlier than January 2024 are eligible for participation.
The selection committee will work until September 5. From September 6 to 30, the jury will screen the films and announce the winners and runners-up. The program for the public will begin on October 14 with the opening ceremony. An educational program, including master classes and a roundtable discussion, will be held on October 15-16. The closing ceremony and awards ceremony for the winners and runners-up will take place on October 17.
