Circassian judoka Idar Bifov from the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic won gold at the Grand Slam tournament in Tbilisi (Georgia) in the 100 kg weight class, according to the Ministry of Sport of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic.
Idar Bifov confidently advanced to the final, winning four matches. In the final, he defeated his compatriot Niyaz Bilalov.
"I've been working towards this victory for a long time, and I'm not going to stop. The final match with Niyaz was both difficult and exciting. He's a very experienced opponent," Bifov commented on his performance.
The tournament in Tbilisi concluded on March 22. The Russian judokas won two gold, two silver, and three bronze medals, finishing second in the medal standings.
