The Arm Wrestling Youth Championship of the Russian Federation concluded in the city of Oryol. Nine representatives from the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (the eastern part of the Circassian homeland) took part in the tournament.
The athletes demonstrated strong results, winning a full set of medals. Martin Birsov became the overall national champion (gold), achieving the Master of Sports of Russia standard. Tamerlan Balov won the silver medal, and Chingiz Shebzukhov took bronze,- according to RIA Kabardino-Balkaria.
The athletes were trained by their coaches, Ruslan Getaov and Astemir Tkhamitlokov.
These competitions served as qualifiers for the World Championship, which will be held in India in September. The Russian Championship will be held in Oryol in April.
