From February 16 to 24, 2026, the Russian Weightlifting Championships for junior men and women aged 15-18 and 19-20 were held in Yekaterinburg. 250 athletes from 30 regions of the country participated in the competition, according to Sovetskaya Adygeya, citing the Committee of the Republic of Adygea for Physical Culture and Sports.
In a tough competition, athletes from the republic won 15 medals of various denominations. The Adygea team took first place in the overall team competition.
In the 61 kg weight class among juniors aged 15-18, Samir Achmiz (coaches A. Gorlov and R. Kazakov) won three gold medals – in the snatch, clean and jerk, and the combined total, with a result of 105/121/226 kg.
In the 89 kg weight class among juniors aged 15-18, Nikita Karpov (coaches A. Gorlov and R. Kazakov) won two gold medals – in the clean and jerk and the combined total, with a result of 128/174/302 kg.
In the 61 kg weight class among juniors aged 19-20, Askhad Bguashev (coach A. Siyukhov) won three silver medals – in the snatch, clean and jerk, and the combined total, with a result of 96/123/219 kg.
In the 73 kg weight class for juniors aged 15-18, Ivan Tokarchuk (coaches V. Khapaphi and R. Kazakov) won two silver medals – in the clean and jerk and in the combined total with a result of 120/145/265 kg.
In the 55 kg weight class for juniors aged 15-18, Roman Ogly (coach A. Siyukhov) won two silver medals – in the clean and jerk and in the combined total with a result of 87/114/201 kg.
In the same weight category among juniors aged 15-18, Andrei Karmanov (coaches V. Khapapkhi and V. Vasyukhin) won three bronze medals - in the snatch, clean and jerk and the combined total with a result of 89/111/200 kg.
