The Russian Sambo Championship for juniors under 24 was held in Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod Region. Athletes from the Republic of Adygea won seven medals, according to the All-Russian Sambo Federation website.
The tournament brought together the strongest young sambists of this age group in the Russian Federation—representatives of the national team's immediate reserve team, ready to move up to the adult competition level.
During the bouts, Rasul Nash won gold in the 79 kg weight class, and Amin Batman won silver in the 53 kg weight class. Five other wrestlers won bronze: Ramazan Koblev (58 kg), Amir Khakuya (79 kg), Ratmir Tkhakakhov (98+ kg), Inver Khakuya (71 kg), and in the woman category Raziet Yediji (80+ kg).
Following the tournament, the Russian national team will be formed to compete in international competitions.
