Circassian Judokas from Adygea won gold and silver at the Russian Cup

 



Circassian athletes from the Republic of Adygea, Ali Datkhuzh and Damir Merem, won gold and silver medals at the recent Russian Judo Cup. This was announced by the head of the republic, Murat Kumpil.

More than 300 judokas from 50 regions of the Russian Federation, including 11 athletes from Adygea, took part in the competition in the city of Cherepovets, Vologdski Region.

Ali Datkhuzh won the tournament in the 90 kg weight class. Damir Merem won silver in the 60 kg weight class.

"I can't help but note that Temirlan Beslaney (66 kg), who, despite demonstrating a strong will to win, came just one step short of a bronze medal,"  the head of Adygea wrote.

Murat Kumpil thanked the republic's national team's coaching staff and wished the coaches and their players continued success.
