Elbrus (Oshhemafe) Winter Season Started Earlier Than Usual

The Elbrus resort (Oshhemafe) in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (the eastern part of the Circassian homeland) opened its winter season on November 1st for the first time in its history. Previous early starts were recorded on November 7th in 2021 and November 8th in 2016,- the news agency Ria Kabardino-Balkaria reports.

"This record-breaking start was made possible thanks to the snow conditions at altitudes of 3,000 meters and above, and, of course, the professionalism of the Elbrus operations team."

In the new winter season, the resort will offer over 20 km of trails of all difficulty levels. In addition to the familiar slopes, a new ski area will open in the eastern sector of the resort, at altitudes of 3,300–3,500 meters. There will be two modern cable cars and six trails totaling 5.2 km. Night skiing will also be available.

The "Promo" rate were available in the first days of the season. A day of skiing will cost 2,900 rubles ($35) for adults and 1,800 rubles ($22) for children.
