The Russian Beach Sambo Cup was held in the city of Anapa on the Black Sea coast in the Circassian homeland. Adygea was represented by five athletes, one of whom, Timur Toguz, became the winner in the weight category of 58 kg. This was reported by the Committee for Physical Culture and Sports of the Republic of Adygea.
More than 150 athletes took part in the competition. The fights were held at the Beach Sports Center. The opening was attended by the Governor of the Krasnodar Territory Veniamin Kondratyev and the President of the All-Russian Sambo Federation Sergey Eliseev.
- We have been holding the event for many years, and always select the best athletes. Next year we will also hold the Russian Championship in Anapa, where the national team for the World and European Championships will be selected, - Sergey Eliseev noted.
In addition to the victory of Timur Toguz, the Adygea team won other medals, a silver medal by Ramazan Kovalev (58 kg) and bronze medals by Adam Malgosh (58 kg), Amir Anchuk (71 kg) and Selim Bagov (over 88 kg).
The athletes of the republic were trained by coaches Adam Diluk, Anzor Gumashkho, Rustam Jerimuk, Azmat Jerimuk, Adam Khabakho, Bayzor Shuman.
