Record: Circassian Alina Pekova conquered 14 highest peaks in the world


31-year-old Circassian climber Alina Pekova from the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic became the first representative of the Russian Federation to conquer 14 highest mountains in the world. 

Since April 2023, Alina Pekova has conquered Everest (8848 m), Kanchenjunga (8586), Lhotse (8516), Makalu (8485), Cho Oyu (8201), Dhaulagiri (8167), Manaslu (8156), Nanga Parbat (8126), Annapurna (8091), which are located in the Himalayas, as well as Chogori/K2 (8614), Gasherbrum I (8080), Gasherbrum II (8035), Broad Peak (8051). 

Alina Pekova's fourteenth summit was Mount Shishapangma (8027 m) in the Himalayas. 

It is reported that only 42 people have been able to conquer the 14 highest mountains in the world. Of all the climbers who managed to conquer the 14 peaks, there were only three women.
