The head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the province of Trabzon (Turkey), Erkut Celebi, said that from May 1,2023, the movement of ferries across the Black Sea along the Sochi-Trabzon route will resume after a nine-year break. The Turkish website "Aksam" reports.
“Our work on this issue has yielded positive results, and we have reached agreements. We will sign contracts on April 6th. We will launch a ferry for 300 people between Sochi and Trabzon,” Celebi said.
According to him, the ferry will accommodate 200 cars, six buses and 12 containers.
Ferries between Sochi and Trabzon ran from 1992 to 2014. The ferry ran once a week. Travel time was about 12 hours. Also, a high-speed ship of the “Kometa” type cruised between the two cities, it went for about five hours.
