Circassian athletes won gold and bronze at the Russian Championship

 


Circassian athletes from the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic won two medals at the Russian "Universal Fight" Championship in Volgograd,- the press service of the Republican Ministry of Sports reports on Saturday.

On April 5-8, in the sports complex of the Volgograd State Academy of Physical Culture, the Russian Championship in universal combat among men and women was held. About 450 fighters from 47 regions of the Russian Federation took part in the competition.

According to the results of the competition, the athletes of Kabardino-Balkaria won two medals:
Alim Kanukoev became the champion of the Russian Federation in the weight category up to 80 kg.
The bronze medal in the same weight was won by Andemirkan Kushkhov.

The winners and prize-winners of the competition will take part in the World Championship, which is scheduled to be held in October this year in Sochi.
